 ABOUT KENSHO-RYU KARATE OF BILLERICA
Kensho-Ryu Kenpo Karate of Billerica is owned and operated by Shihan Paul Parent, a former student of the late Nick Cerio and current student of Kyoshi Mark Sheeley. The dojo is conveniently located on Route 3A in Billerica, Ma., and offers a flexible training schedule to children as well as adults. Once enrolled in the program, students may attend as many classes as they wish each week, enabling each to train at his/her own pace. Belt tests are performed periodically, and are offered to students who have successfully achieved the requirements of their current ranks.
Shihan Paul's unique training style combines a command for respect, a sense of humor, and a genuine interest in each student. Despite the class size, individual attention is always given to students in need to ensure that nobody is left behind. Involvement with this program yields many rewards, including:
- A FEELING OF SELF-RESPECT ALONG WITH RESPECT FOR OTHERS
- SELF-DISCIPLINE, PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL CONTROL
- STRENGTH, ENDURANCE, AND PHYSICAL FITNESS
- SELF-CONFIDENCE THROUGH A SENSE OF ACHIEVEMENT
- KNOWLEDGE OF SELF-DEFENSE AND RESPECT FOR ITS POWER

Proud group of "Mad 24" graduates | Through example, Shihan Paul teaches a sense of commmunity involvement and caring. He has founded the Kensho-Ryu Charity Foundation, which raises funds for one specific charity each year. The Foundation has sponsored programs such as Make A Wish and the Chuck Noris Foundation to Keep Kids Off Drugs, and has marked the Autistic Foundation, the Heart Association, and the Lupus Foundation as future recipients. Students are encouraged to participate in fund raising activities and to become aware of the surrounding community.
The following excerpt was copied from the Kids in Disability Sports website: "Sensei Paul Parent, a 4thDegree Black Belt Instructor and owner of Kensho-Ryu in Billerica introduced a self defense course to approximately 25 K.I.D.S. members at the Reilly School in Lowell on Saturday, March 1, 2003. The program will run for six weeks. Many thanks to Sensei Paul and his helpers for donating their time and energy bringing this new program to our members."
